De JDOF is op zoek naar een nieuwe, jonge dansmaker voor onze nieuwste productie van Moving Forward. Moving Forward is een choreografieproject voor de laatstejaars leerlingen van de JDOF. Elk jaar geven we een jonge dansmaker de kans om een choreografie te creëren voor deze groep leerlingen voor wie dit het sluitstuk van de opleiding vormt.

Elk jaar sluiten de vierdejaars leerlingen van de JDOF hun opleiding af met een speciaal voor hen gecreëerde choreografie. Moving Forward daagt de jonge dansers uit om hun artistieke grenzen te verkennen en zichzelf onder te dompelen in het proces als danser. Daarnaast geven we veelbelovende makers een podium om hun makerschap verder te ontwikkelen. Dit seizoen werken we in Moving Forward samen met componist Frans Vermeerssen. Hij zal een nieuwe compositie creëren voor de productie, in nauwe samenspraak met jou als choreograaf.

Wie zoeken we en wat verwachten we van je?

  • Je bent een ( jonge) ambitieuze, nieuwsgierige dansmaker die graag werkt met jong talent
  • Je concept en bewegingsmateriaal sluit aan bij de belevingswereld van de jongeren en daagt hen uit hun fysieke en artistieke grenzen te verleggen
  • Je maakt een nieuwe productie van ongeveer 20-25 minuten waarbij je nauw samenwerkt met de componist
  • Je bent beschikbaar op zaterdagochtend in de periode van 14 januari t/m half april + een aantal zondagen (in overleg)
  • Repetities vinden plaats in onze dansstudio’s in Neushoorn, Leeuwarden
  • Je beschikt over een afgeronde HBO opleiding Dansmaker / danser /  docent of aantoonbaar vergelijkbaar niveau

OPEN CALL | Choreographer / dance maker 

The Jeugd Dansopleiding Fryslân  is looking for a choreographer for a new production of the choreography project Moving Forward. The Jeugd Dansopleiding Fryslân (JDOF) is a four-year preparatory course for young dance talent (11-18 years) in Leeuwarden. Every year, the fourth-year students of the JDOF complete their training with a choreography specially created for them. Moving Forward challenges the young dancers to explore their artistic boundaries and immerse themselves in the process as a dancer. This season in Moving Forward we are working with composer Frans Vermeerssen. He will create a new composition for the production, in close consultation with you as choreographer.

Who are we looking for and what do we expect from you?

  • You are a ( young) ambitious, curious dance maker who enjoys working with young talent
  • Your concept and movement material connects to the experiences of young people and challenges them to push their physical and artistic boundaries
  • You will create a new production of approximately 20-25 minutes working closely with the composer
  • You are available on Saturday mornings in the period from 14 January to mid April + a number of Sundays (by arrangement)
  • Rehearsals take place in our dance studios in Neushoorn, Leeuwarden
  • You have a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in dancer/maker/teacher or demonstrably comparable level.
